Change the message without replacing every character

RIBtype stamps use interchangeable rubber characters that lock into a matching ribbed surface. The ribs on the back of each piece interlock with the ribs on the marking device. This lets you arrange a message, remove a character and substitute another when the information changes. It is a different ordering decision from buying a fixed personalized stamp: you are selecting reusable type for a compatible device.

The products currently listed here are replacement character assortments. They do not include a stamp mount, ink pad or ink. Open an individual product to check its exact size, piece count and ordering options. If you need a complete marking setup, establish which device and inking arrangement you need before choosing replacement type. A photograph of a character package does not mean a handle stamp or self-inking housing is included.

Choose letters and figures, or figures alone

The TA7 assortment includes 136 pieces comprising letters, numbers and symbols. The FA7 assortment contains 59 numbers and symbols. Both use A-style regular characters, 1/16 inch high, approximately 1.59 mm or 6 point, with two ribs on the back. The difference is the assortment, not a choice of stamp housing or ink color.

Choose a letter-and-number assortment for messages that combine words and codes. For a numerical message, compare the number-and-symbol assortment with the digits you need. The piece count describes the total assortment. It does not promise that many copies of each letter or number. Write out your intended message, including repeated characters, before deciding which set and how many sets to order.

Check your existing ribbed marking device

Character height is only one part of choosing RIBtype rubber stamps and replacement type. Check the ribbed base, type style and space available for the complete message. A 1/16-inch character measurement is not a stamp diameter and does not specify the width of a finished line. The device must accommodate the arrangement you intend to build.

The brand describes compatible ribbed-type systems, but also cautions that brands can differ in character style and alignment. New type placed beside worn existing pieces may not produce an identical impression. When replacing only part of an established setup, compare the existing characters, their condition and their printed appearance. If matching a current mark closely is essential, resolve those details before ordering.

Useful for information that changes

Interchangeable type is used for date coding, part marking, lot numbers and other changing messages. RIBtype sets let you replace the relevant pieces when a value changes. Plan the message around the actual assortment and marking device rather than assuming a type set supplies every component of the printing process.

The surface you mark also affects the wider setup you need. These replacement-set listings do not select an ink formulation for a particular material or promise a permanent mark on every surface. Keep that separate from choosing the characters: confirm the device and its appropriate inking setup for your application. The term rib type describes the interlocking arrangement; it is not a claim that one ink works everywhere.

Order one clearly identified product

Each product page names its exact set and displays its price, original product photographs and standard contents. Choose a quantity of complete sets and enter Special Instructions if you have an order note. Notes stay with that product in the cart, but they do not change the listed character size or include a custom graphic, mount or additional accessory.

Review the product and quantity before checkout. Keep letter-and-figure and number-and-figure sets as separate cart items when you need both, so each assortment remains clearly identified. This separation also makes it easier to return to the relevant product page and check what you selected.

Questions about replacement type

Do these RIBtype stamps include a mount?
The available TA7 and FA7 listings are replacement character sets. A stamp mount, ink pad and ink are separate; none is added automatically to the order.
Which set includes letters?
TA7 contains letters, numbers and symbols, with 136 pieces in total. FA7 is the 59-piece number and symbol assortment. Both use the same 1/16-inch character height.
Can I alter a date or code later?
Yes. The individual rubber characters interlock with the compatible ribbed base and can be rearranged when the message changes. Check that your assortment has enough of each repeated character.
Will new pieces match my old type exactly?
Do not assume an exact visual match. Type style and alignment can differ between brands, and worn existing pieces may print differently beside new type. Compare your current setup first.
