What a Wyoming professional engineer stamp is for
A Wyoming professional engineer stamp identifies the licensee certifying engineering work. The impression accompanies the required signature and signing date. Chapter 5 of the board’s rules connects certification to preparation, substantial review and direct supervision; possessing the stamp does not establish competence or responsible charge.
The current board-linked rule book includes the official engineer seal illustration. It also distinguishes an electronic seal image from a qualifying digital signature and describes how a new, replacement or additional seal is submitted to the board. Those steps are professional responsibilities that remain separate from ordering the housing.
The Wyoming engineer seal design and dimensions
Chapter 5 §1(a) specifies two concentric circles with an outer diameter of 1¾ inches and an inner diameter of 1¼ inches. Professional Engineer and Wyoming occupy the outer ring. The licensed name, number and Date appear inside with the illustrated bucking horse and rider. The number is centered and must not be larger than the name.
The supplier’s example for this exact product shows that engineer design. The preview on this page checks the typed identity; its caption explains that the finished Wyoming professional engineer seal includes the horse and rider. It is not a facsimile of the artwork or a scale drawing. The listing does not separately report the finished die measurement.
Placeholder words and parentheses in the board illustration are replaced by the real licensed identity. Seals authorized before July 1, 2013 remain acceptable under §1(b). That grandfather provision does not change the requirements for the new seal being ordered.
Your Wyoming professional engineer stamp on the Trodat 46050
The Trodat 46050 self-inking housing has an internal pad that can be re-inked or replaced. An open lower frame helps position the impression, and nonslip pads steady the base. The product-only photograph shows its black upper body, clear top, red side button and light gray open frame. The in-hand photograph provides a separate view of the housing.
The listed water-based ink does not dry on glossy paper or Mylar. Use a suitable paper surface. Selecting another ink color does not change that limitation, and the personalized seal face is not exposed in either photograph.
Ordering a PE stamp Wyoming engineers can personalize
Set Qty, then enter Registrant Name and License Number in that order. Use your licensed spelling and keep any leading zeros. Compare the preview with your credential, select one of the nine ink choices and add Special Instructions if a note needs to accompany the order.
Optional Wyoming PE seal artwork is supplied as JPG and PDF files after creation. Its checkbox is independent from refill ink, an extra pad and the pad-and-ink combination. The combination includes a pad and bottle; selecting the separate supplies too adds extra items. Check the selected extras and updated total before proceeding.
The Date inscription is part of the illustrated seal design. The signing date itself is completed when certifying a document, together with the signature. This Wyoming PE stamp form therefore collects the licensed name and number without a permanent signing-date field.
Using and registering the seal
Section 1(c) requires a fully legible seal with the signature and signing date superimposed. On documents containing multiple sheets, the responsible licensee certifies the title page or first page of that licensee’s work. Full-size or reduced reproductions must remain legible, and the original signed, sealed and dated document is retained.
A qualifying digital signature is unique, verifiable and under the licensee’s sole responsibility and control. It is linked to invalidate if document data changes. Electronic seal images and reproductions of original signatures have their own provisions in §1(d) and §1(f); the optional artwork file is not a complete signing system.
Section 1(h) requires submission of the new seal impression with an original signature for the board’s records and approval. A replacement or additional seal requires another impression with a sworn statement explaining the duplicate. A seal the board finds nonconforming must be replaced before it is used on work.
Wyoming professional engineer stamp questions
- What dimensions does Wyoming require for the engineer seal?
- Chapter 5 §1(a) specifies a 1¾-inch outer circle and a 1¼-inch inner circle. These are the seal dimensions. Section 2 separately addresses the size of documents, which is set by the entity receiving them.
- Why does the preview show Date without a date-entry field?
- Date appears in the board’s illustrated seal and the exact product example. The signing date is applied when certifying a document, with the signature superimposed over the seal. The supplier collects name and license number rather than a fixed date to engrave.
- Must I submit a new or replacement seal to the board?
- Section 1(h) requires an impression with an original signature for a new seal. A replacement or additional seal requires an impression and a sworn statement explaining the duplication. A seal the board finds nonconforming must be replaced before it is used.
- Does the optional digital file provide a digital signature?
- No. The add-on provides JPG and PDF seal artwork. Digital signatures must separately meet the unique-identity, verification, control and change-detection conditions in Chapter 5 §1(e).
- Can an older Wyoming seal still be used?
- Seals authorized before July 1, 2013 may continue to be used under §1(b). The exception preserves those earlier authorized seals; it does not make arbitrary wording or dimensions acceptable for a new one.
