What an Ohio professional engineer stamp is for
An Ohio professional engineer stamp identifies the registered engineer responsible for issued engineering work. The personalized seal accompanies the required signature and date. Use your Ohio PE stamp only while your registration is current and for work within your professional responsibility; the stamp itself does not establish that responsibility.
The Ohio engineer seal format
The board’s individual engineer illustration places State of Ohio above your registered name and serial number. Registered appears near the inside bottom, with Professional Engineer around the lower edge. Its guidance specifies a 1¾-inch rubber seal. The separate 1⅝-inch size applies to an embossing seal, which is a different product.
Enter the complete serial number as issued. The example uses an E- prefix, but the form does not add another prefix automatically. Keep your registered name and number legible, review both against your registration, and keep the Ohio professional engineer seal secure between uses.
The Trodat 46050 self-inking mount
This product uses one Trodat 46050 housing with a built-in pad that inks the die between impressions. Its open base helps you position the stamp, and the pad can be refilled or replaced. The photograph shows the housing; your personalized seal is on the stamp face, out of view.
The listed ink is water based and will not dry on glossy paper or Mylar. Choose a suitable paper surface. The replacement pad, 1 oz refill bottle and pad-and-ink combination are separate optional supplies matched to this product.
Ordering a PE stamp Ohio engineers can personalize
Set your quantity, enter Registrant Name and License Number, then choose from the nine listed ink options. The preview updates with your details. Select any needed accessories, add special instructions and review the running total. Each accessory checkbox is independent, including the combination option.
The order form collects the two identity fields offered for this exact stamp. Your signature and the date of a particular document are applied when signing and sealing that work; they are not permanently engraved through these fields.
Digital files and electronic sealing
The optional digital add-on supplies JPG and PDF artwork of your Ohio PE seal. A seal image does not create an authenticated electronic signature. Ohio’s electronic procedure requires the seal, signature and date together with the safeguards in Rule 4733-23-01, including verification and a link to the document that invalidates authentication if it is altered.
Ohio engineer stamp questions
- What size is required for an Ohio rubber engineer seal?
- The board’s individual-seal guidance specifies 1¾ inches for the rubber stamp. Its 1⅝-inch measurement is for an embossing seal. The illustrated examples are not actual-size measurements.
- Should I add E- before my Ohio license number?
- Enter the complete serial number as issued on your registration. The license-number field example includes E-, but this product does not insert another prefix automatically. Check the finished preview against your own number.
- Does the digital add-on electronically sign my documents?
- No. It supplies JPG and PDF seal artwork. The required electronic signature, date and authentication safeguards are separate responsibilities under Ohio’s sealing rule.
- Can I order an expiration date on this exact stamp?
- The exact product form collects your registered name and license number, without an expiration-date field. Use the seal only while your registration is current; an engraved date would not establish current registration.
- Will the supplied ink work on Mylar?
- The supplied ink is water based and does not dry on Mylar or glossy paper. Use a suitable paper surface and the matching pad or refill options offered for this housing.
