An Arizona professional engineer stamp for your registered branch
An Arizona professional engineer stamp identifies the registrant responsible for engineering documents. This product pairs the Arizona seal format with the Trodat 4642 self-inking housing. Enter the branch in which you are registered, your certificate number and your registered name. Those details define your personalized seal; the housing photograph shows the stamp body.
Arizona’s rules cover drawings, maps, specifications, reports and other professional documents. R4-30-304 identifies where each kind of document receives the seal and signature. Before submitting professional work, check the applicable signing, dating and sealing requirements. The rule has a limited exception for specified preliminary or draft material shared within a design team, and it separately requires sealing documents prepared for dispute resolution, litigation, arbitration or mediation.
What belongs on an Arizona engineer seal
Appendix A shows a round Arizona professional engineer seal. The outer circle measures 1½ inches, with a tolerance of 1/16 inch in either direction. The inner circle measures 1⅛ inches with the same tolerance. The upper wording identifies a Registered Professional Engineer and the registered engineering branch. Arizona U.S.A. appears below; the certificate number, registered name and Date Signed belong inside.
Use the branch that appears in your registration. An engineer registered in more than one branch needs a separate seal for each registered branch. An Arizona PE seal also needs careful signature placement: the signature must leave the printed name and registration number readable. The date refers to the document’s sealing date, so this order does not ask you to engrave today’s date permanently into the seal.
Immediately after receiving your Arizona professional engineer stamp, and before using it, file the board’s seal-imprint form. R4-30-303(B) calls for the imprint, an original signature superimposed over it and an affidavit. Ordering the stamp does not complete that filing for you.
The Trodat 4642 mount for an Arizona PE stamp
The Trodat 4642 has an internal ink pad, allowing repeated stamping without moving the stamp to a separate pad between impressions. Its open base helps you position the mark, and its pad can be replaced or refilled. Select Black, Pink, Red, Purple, Blue, Orange, Green, Dry or Brown in the order form.
The supplied ink is water based. It does not dry on glossy paper or Mylar, so choose a suitable document surface. Dry is the uninked option. The housing’s capacity is not a measurement of the personalized die; the board’s seal dimensions are listed in the requirements above.
Ordering the PE stamp Arizona engineers use
Enter your registered discipline first, then the certificate number and registrant name. Review the live text preview for spelling, punctuation and the correct branch. It is a typographic aid; the final seal layout follows Arizona’s board format. Choose your ink, quantity and any special instructions before reviewing the running total.
This Arizona professional engineer stamp offers an optional digital file in JPG and PDF formats. You can also select a 1 oz refill bottle, an extra replacement pad, or the pad-and-ink combination. These are independent checkboxes: choose only the supplies you want. The accessories stay associated with this stamp’s model and licensed details in the order.
Computer-generated seals and electronic signatures
A computer-generated seal must match the seal filed with the Arizona board. R4-30-304 permits an electronic signature under Arizona Titles 41 and 44 and requires adequate security for the seal and signature. The optional JPG and PDF artwork provides the seal image; it does not itself supply a secure electronic-signature process.
The rule also specifies a notice for certain electronic copies that do not meet its signing, dating and sealing requirements. Check R4-30-304(C) for the exact wording and identify the registrant who holds the sealed original when that provision applies.
Arizona engineer stamp questions
- Do I need a different Arizona seal for each engineering branch?
- Yes. R4-30-303(B) requires engineers registered in more than one branch to secure and use a seal for each branch. Enter the registered branch for this particular order; another branch requires its own seal.
- Can I use my new stamp as soon as it arrives?
- Complete the board’s seal-imprint filing before first use. The required filing includes an imprint, an original signature over the seal and an affidavit. Review R4-30-303(B) and use the board-provided form.
- Is an expiration date required in the current Arizona illustration?
- The current Appendix A illustration has Date Signed, but no expiration notation. R4-30-304(E) requires the date the document was sealed. The older Appendix B was repealed; it is not the current seal illustration.
- Does the digital add-on include both file formats?
- Yes. The optional digital file includes JPG and PDF versions of your personalized seal. Arizona’s requirements for an electronic signature and secure seal use still apply when signing professional documents electronically.
- Can one stamp carry different registered names?
- This Arizona professional engineer stamp is personalized for one registered name, certificate number and engineering branch. Order a separate stamp for another registrant, and check the identity and branch on each order against that person’s registration.
